Electricity Management Projects

28 November 2025

The Company places great importance on efficient energy management. In 2024, the Company carried out continuous maintenance of machinery and electrical equipment, as well as energy system improvements. It promoted energy conservation within the organization and fostered a corporate culture that encourages employees to participate in energy saving and resource conservation. The Company expanded the installation of solar power systems (Solar Rooftop) to increase the share of clean energy consumption. Energy efficiency per revenue was improved, reducing electricity consumption per revenue from 6,543 to 6,363.97 kWh/million THB, representing a 2.75%, a decrease from 2023 to 2024.

Solar Rooftop Project

The Company has continuously invested in installing solar rooftop systems to generate electricity from solar energy since 2018. Installations have been carried out at Index Living Mall branches, The Walk shopping center, distribution centers, and factories, in order to use clean energy and mitigate global warming. By 2024, a total of 28 installations had been completed, with ongoing expansion. In 2024, these systems generated 15,684.04 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity, an increase of 4.90% from the base year, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 7,617.73 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e).

Energy Saving Project

implemented as follows:

  • Chiller Efficiency Improvement. The performance of currently operating chillers has been studied to enhance efficiency and reduce electricity consumption. In 2025, there are plans to install new chillers to replace the old units at two branches: Hat Yai and Phuket.
  • Cooling Tower Efficiency Improvement New installations and upgrades of cooling towers were carried out across 10 branches. New installations were completed at two branches, Phuket and Khon Kaen, while machinery and equipment within the cooling towers were upgraded at eight branches, such as Chiang Mai, Nakhon Sawan, Chonburi, Pattaya, Rayong, Nakhon Ratchasima, Mahachai, and Bang Na, to enhance performance and improve heat dissipation.
  • Air Handling Unit (AHU) Efficiency Improvement. New AHUs were installed to replace the old units on every floor of the head office building, totaling 8 units.
  • Chiller Operation Scheduling. Set the on/off settings of chillers by adjusting the percentage of Air Handling Units (AHUs) according to the season.
  • Optimization of split-type air conditioners. Establish a policy to replace old or broken units with energy-saving inverter systems when purchasing new ones.
  • Replacement of all lighting in the building with LED bulbs at one branch. Chiang Mai branch.
  • Controlling the switching on and off of electrical systems, setting appropriate indoor temperatures at the branch, and ensuring the most efficient use of energy.
INDEX GOES GREEN’s Project

Since 2023, the Company has continuously implemented the INDEX GOES GREEN project, focusing on raising awareness among employees and management about social and environmental responsibility. This is achieved through activities and policies that promote energy conservation and resource reduction, such as reducing the use of bottled drinking water, adopting water filtration systems, limiting document printing, and transitioning to electronic systems, as well as eliminating plastic packaging. The goal is to foster an environmentally friendly corporate culture and support sustainable business operations.
