Wastewater Management Improvement Project
The Company implemented two pilot projects using innovative wastewater treatment technologies to improve its wastewater management systems during 2022–2023, namely at The Walk Shopping Center, Ratchaphruek Branch, and Kaset Nawamin Branch. These projects utilized the Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) and Membrane Bio Reactor (MBR) systems for wastewater treatment. The MBR system combines the use of microorganisms to remove dissolved waste in water with filtration through a membrane with 0.4-micron pores, serving as a filter for treated water. This process is a form of activated sludge wastewater treatment.
Building on these two pilot projects, the Company is committed to continuously developing an efficient wastewater treatment system that meets or exceeds quality standards. The Membrane Bio Reactor (MBR) technology, a new innovative wastewater treatment system, was fully implemented at the newly opened DecorSpace Shopping Center, Thonglor Branch, in October 2024, with a total budget of 2,703,500 THB. The MBR system can reduce the BOD of discharged water to as low as 5 mg/L, with turbidity below 1 NTU, ensuring that the effluent released into the environment meets regulatory standards. This demonstrates the Company’s commitment to social responsibility and environmental stewardship.
